Mobile Security Surveillance: Two Case Studies A construction site located off of a major highway had been experiencing an unusually high rate of vandalism and theft of construction equipment and materials.
Despite instituting conventional security methods, including installing a security fence, additional lighting, and deploying a roving security officer, the incidents continued to escalate.
The site manager contacted a security consultant who recommended the deployment of a mobile security surveillance trailer.
The trailer, not much bigger than a forklift, was outfitted with multiple cameras mounted on telescoping poles, as well as onboard lighting to further illuminate the site.
It is designed to be highly visible so it functions as a deterrent as well as an electronic witness of any on-site happenings that occur afterhours.
Some of the cameras lenses were permanently directed towards vulnerable spots along the fence perimeter, while other were programmed to pan the entire construction site area in overlapping paths.
These high-resolution cameras, capable of capturing recognizable images even in no or low-light situations, were being counted upon to help police identify the perpetrators the next time an on-site incident occurred.
Neither the construction manager, nor the police, ever got a chance to see any captured video of the criminals however. That’s because once the mobile security surveillance trailer was positioned, all criminal activity ceased.
The equipment was left in place until the project was completed and the owner took possession of the site.
The decision by the security consultant to deploy a mobile security surveillance trailer was obviously a sound one.
But the construction industry isn’t the only one who can benefit from the strategic deployment of a mobile security surveillance system. Here is another example:
A popular waterfront hotel attracts thousands of young college students during Spring Break each year. Numerous incidents of underage drinking, fighting, theft, assaults, vandalism and public nudity, over the years, had come to a head. The city council warned hotel management that they would refuse to issue the necessary permits for outdoor entertainment, going forward, unless the current Spring break season went by with minimal disruption.
In addition to beefing up their hotel security staff, management deployed two strategically-placed mobile security surveillance trailers on the premises. Once was positioned on the roof where it could observe the beach, bar, stage and marina area. The other was positioned in the parking lot where it could view that entire area as well as the service area and loading docks.
In addition to recording everything the cameras saw, live video feeds were routed to the security desk where officers could monitor the activity of the guests 24/7. The hotel experienced the most trouble-free Spring Break in their history, and the city council was impressed.
Mobile security surveillance is the perfect solution for providing instant deterrent, identification and response capabilities for any organization experiencing security threats, crowd management or any other situation requiring video evidence.
Mobile security surveillance trailers are highly-portable, set up in minutes and can be rented for any period of time.
