Since they are looking to fill a void in the security field, this make a win-win situation for everyone. Since they are unarmed it is easier for them to blend into situations and provided the necessary coverage while remaining inconspicuous. Some states require that anyone wishing to become an unarmed security guard be licensed and registered with the state. Some of the requirements to obtain this license are to be considered mentally competent, be of good moral character, be free of any chemical or alcohol dependency, and be free of any convictions. They might also be required to submit their fingerprints to the state or to the FBI for a criminal history check. You should check with the state you intend to work in to see what their requirements are, if any.
